Acknowledgments

Parts of this manual , particularly the equipment section, have been taken from my book ZEN and the Art of Photoelectric Photometry. Zero Point, Extinction and Color Transformation determinations are some of the parts taken from WORKBOOK for ASTRONOMICAL PHOTOELECTRIC PHOTOMETRY by Paul C. Schmmidtke and myself. Much of the equipment and techniques have been developed over the past 25 years from thousands of hours of observations and work. While there are many ways to approach each problem, the following presents a proven way.

I wish to thank Paul Schmitke for his help and encouragement through my learning stages of photometry and for writing the foreword to this manual. I also wish to thank Stanley Gorodenski for providing information on his Blue Hills Observatory and his equipment including his Starlight-1 photometer. I also wish to thank him for helping proof the manual.
